Tomcat has become a huge Dukes of Hazzard fan, and sings the theme song many times a day. He has asked me to explain the lyrics over and over. Today he happened to see the 1997 reunion movie. It was so sad to see the much-aged Dukes brawling in the Boar's Nest. Thomas said, "There they go 'fightin' the system'." Glad he's applying the theme song to the action! He then asked me if we could watch the "real" Duke boys instead. I guess even a 4 year old knows there is something pitiful about a reunion movie. He then asked why they were STILL wearing the same clothes (20 years later). haha

While eating his chicken-pot-pie tonight, he wanted to make sure that he wasn't eating "those things I not like, marshmallows!" For the record, he LOVES marshmallows and hates mushrooms.

Yet another way to celebrate Tom's 4th and Tuck's 7 month birthdays was a trip to the doctor for check ups and shots! How many nurses does it take to give 8 shots and a finger prick to the Clinton brothers? THREE!!!! No, Thomas didn't have to be put in a straight jacket but the shrieking and wailing was probably heard miles away. Ironically, the "show" Tomcat put on helped Tucker make it through his own ordeal with minimal crying. Apparently Tuckie found Thomas rather entertaining.

Birthday cake for breakfast. Jacuzzi tub. Giant swimming pool, complete with real-size pirate ship. Meeting Mickey Mouse, at his house. Roller coasters. Halloween candy. TONS of new friends, all sharing Thomas's special Colombian heritage. Hum. YES....the Tomcat had a marvelous 4th birthday weekend. We were invited to attend a reunion of families who have adopted from Colombia. The reunion just happened to be in Orlando on October 23rd! Both Tom & Tuck had a wonderful trip. Those Clinton boys do like to travel. They both did well in the car, thanks to a 4 part John Deere video (thanks Wilsons). We also got to visit Erskine friends in Jacksonville; just wish we could have stayed longer than an hour. More than once Thomas announced, "I do loooove Florida."

So, besides his trip to Mickey's Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, what did Thomas get for his birthday? A new belt. Boy is he proud. "Just like Daddy's." The other families didn't know what to think about a 4 year old being thrilled out of his mind about a BELT. Little do they know that's classic Tomcat.

As always, thank you for the texts, emails, cards, gifts, and well-wishes. Thomas really does remember who remembers him. haha!

Just thought I'd post a few photos of Thomas and his sweet friends at Cotton Hills Farm. Hopefully this new slideshow option will work on the blog!

Alright people, let the countdown begin. ONE month until Thomas's birthday. If I won a million dollars today, Thomas would STILL be the most excited person in the house. ha!

Tomcat quotes of the last few weeks....

After watching a Dukes of Hazard marathon for the first time...."Mommy, when is that show coming back on where the wheels are OFF the ground and they say Yah-Who!?"

Tom: Will giving you a kiss help me stay up later?

Mom: What did God make?
Tom: Trees, mountains, and volcanoes.
Mom: What else (tapping Tom on the head meaning HIM)?
Tom: Oh yeah, God made brains.

Thomas: One day me name my 2 sons Tuckie and James Calvin. Me like those names.

Mom: Thomas, you need to go to bed early since you missed your nap.
Tom: Mommy, me want to be nocturnal.

Tucker turned 5 months old today! In the last month, he added two shiny new teeth to his dimpled smile. Thomas is most impressed and has done several thorough dental exams (poor Tuckie). You can see the teeth in the first photo; Thomas was blowing on Tucker's back to make him laugh. Tucker has been super sick this last week with an apparent virus, but seems to be pulling out of it finally. Even feeling terribly, he'll always smile for Brother.

The Clinton brothers visited their extended Clinton family for Labor Day weekend. Tucker's first trip to the beach was very different than Thomas's. Tucker was SCARED! Thomas has loved water of any kind since he was a baby. The photos tell the tale.

Tucker turned 4 months on Monday. Four months is a special age to us because Thomas was that age when we were given him. The brothers are a lot alike now that it's fair to compare....like being super nosey babies. The biggest differences are that Thomas could sit up well and even flip through a book! Tucker is a roller and a mover. haha!

Thomas is learning to take photos. The first one of Tucker is by Thomas! Meanwhile, Tuck is learning to eat cereal. Yikes is all I can say. The fellas have had a blast visiting with friends too as the summer winds down.
